Die in Minas Gerais geborene afro-brasilianische Sängerin, Songwriterin und Aktivistin Bia Ferreira eroberte Brasilien mit dem Song „cota nao é esmola“, einer antirassistischen Widerstandshymne. Ihr Album „Igreja Lesbiteriana, O chamado“ (Lesbische Kirche, Der Ruf), das Gospel, Rap und Reggae mischt, wurde 2019 veröffentlicht und zielt darauf ab eine antirassistische Revolution anzustoßen und LGBTQI-Rechte in den Fokus zu rücken. Neben ihrem Erfolg in Brasilien hat sich Bia Ferreira auch international, in Ländern wie Deutschland, Portugal, Spanien, Frankreich und Mexiko, einen Namen gemacht. Bias Kunst brachte sie bereits auf einige großen Bühnen wie Pulse Red Bull Music (Sao Paulo), Favela Sounds (Brasilia), Oi STU Open (Rio de Janeiro) und Festival Morrostock (Rio Grande do Sul). Begleitet von meist weiblichen und Schwarzen Musiker*innen kreiert sie Musik, die über das Körperliche hinausgeht und den Geist berührt.

Bia Ferreira, Afro-Brazilian musician and activist is performing a live concert on September 3rd at Oyoun! Born in Minas Gerais, the singer-songwriter conquered Brazil with the song „cota nao é esmola“, an anti-racist resistance anthem. Mixing gospel, rap and reggae, the album „Igreja Lesbiteriana, O chamado“ (Lesbian Church, The Call) was released in 2019 and aims to use information to create an anti-racist revolution while supporting LGBTQI+ rights. In addition to her success in Brazil, Bia Ferreira has also made a name for herself internationally, in countries such as Germany, Portugal, Spain, France and Mexico. Bia’s has performed on some major stages such as those of Pulse redbull Music (Sao Paulo), Favela Sounds (Brasilia), Oi STU Open (Rio de Janeiro) and Festival Morrostock (Rio Grande do Sul).
